Birthday Flashback

I had an amazing 26th birthday. I knew this day was going to be great the moment I agreed to perform in the Queens Networking Showcase. My birthday was also on Dream Big Friday so that was even more excitement for me. The best part to me was performing brand new music to a room full of people that have never seen me perform or heard my music before, except for maybe a handful of people. 110615 - Ruff 3

The 13 minutes that I performed that night was the greatest adrenaline rush in a long time, and the love I received was phenomenal. I’ve added a few photos of the performance from the Showcase to the photo gallery for you to checkout when you get a chance.

After the show my cousin Twan lead me to an unknown location… I knew my family was planning me a surprise party, but I had no clue about the details. I didn’t think Ruby Rocx knew anything about it, but He made it out also along with my manager and few close friends. My whole family was in the building and it was LIVE, hands down the best birthday I’ve ever had.

My sister (CB Treats) blessed me with an amazing cake. I love this girl!!!!

I was grateful to be surrounded by so much love that day and to spend some of it doing the thing that I have a great passion for. With this being the first time I’ve ever performed on my birthday, I’m thinking about making this a tradition. Maybe I can have another surprise party also haha.

Til next time, Dream Big!!!

Get Out Of Your Way!!

Dear Leader,

Along your journey to success you will face obstacles. Some of these obstacles are real and difficult to make it through, but they are not impossible. Some obstacles are only mental barriers we place in front of ourselves. We feel as if something outside of ourselves is holding us back from greatness. The truth is only we can hold ourselves back.

You have the ability to face any challenge and win. That win may take some time, courage, sweat, and many other dedications, but they are possible. Put your faith in favorable outcomes and allow your greatness to be unleashed. Dream Big!!!

Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.

The Art of Giving

Dear Leader,

The more you give, the more comes back to you. This is a natural law of the Universe. I remember being in a training class and hearing the instructor say “Givers get.” It’s the truth.

Just think… If you want love, you have to give it. If you want someone to smile at you, smile first. If you want money, you give it out first. Helping someone is a blessing and it’s always return to you even if it’s not directly from the one you blessed. Dream Big, Leader. Positive Vibes attract Positive Vibes.

CHARGED UP!!!

  Dear Leader:

I was a little tired earlier this morning (12am) and I dozed off reading a book… About 15-20 minutes later I got myself together and continued reading. 1am came and went… 2am, 3am… Around 3:30 this morning I started making myself a to-do list for the day. Not really expecting to stay up this entire time, but I can honestly say being focused on achieving my dreams has me wide awake right now.

I recently read something that said gratitude brings you more things to be grateful for, so I really have to give some acknowledgment for a moment… I AM SO GRATEFUL FOR POSITIVE ENERGY AND FRIENDS THAT ADD VALUE TO MY LIFE!!!

I feel like the only person that can truly stop us from doing the things we dream of doing is ourselves. Once we believe in something, we have to trust the process and enjoy it at the same time. Of course it’s going to be an unknown journey because we haven’t done this yet, but this journey can be whatever we make it. Our entire life is whatever we make it. Like we have the power to choose to have an amazing day today (or the total opposite). Let’s make it phenomenal and award worthy. If you give today your 100% best, give yourself the MVP trophy at the end. Dream Big and go get it!!

Overcome Adversity

Ruff - Overcome AdversityWhen you’re in pursuit of your dreams and it seems that you are at the top of your game, life always throws that curveball. Be in the mindset of whatever can go wrong will go wrong, but the key is to be ready and brace yourself for it.

When I put on my Dream Big t-shirt this morning, I looked in the mirror and felt unstoppable. Although things haven’t gone exactly how I’ve planned or imagined them to go, I still walk in confidence and I still have faith. Sometimes you just have to take a timeout, take another look at the bigger picture, realize how far you’ve come, and why there is no turning back even though the journey is tough. Prepare yourself to fight through it.

In the midst of adversity you will find yourself. You will figure out who you are and what you’re really made of. No matter how high the odds are stacked against you, you have to keep moving forward. When you keep believing in your dreams and work hard to achieve them, you will realize that those mountains that used to be in your way look more like speed bumps now. Understand there will be unexpected circumstances and things will go wrong, but overcoming adversity is a key to living the Dream Big Lifestyle. Don’t give up and don’t limit yourself.

Happy Dream Big Friday,

– Ruff

What’s your motivation?

Today’s Dream Big Friday. I love Fridays… Some days I feel like I’m on top of the world. Then there’s those other days where I’m kinda like eh, in need of some sort of push, inspiration, a sign or something I don’t know… but today’s one of those days.

There’s no feeling like scrolling down my Instagram timeline and seeing someone with a Dream Big t-shirt on.  Moments like that give me the motivation to keep going, to keep striving, and never give up on my dreams.  I’d be lying to myself if I said I never thought about just giving up, failure, or disappointments. That’s reality. The best part of that reality is that I’m not a quitter, I’ll only fail if I do in fact quit, and you only get disappointed when you set expectations that aren’t met. Well I guess I don’t really mind the risk of disappointment since I expect a lot from myself and also the people around me. This gives us something to aim for, something high.

I read a quote from Greg Anderson this morning that said “When we are motivated by goals that have deep meaning, by dreams that need completion, by pure love that needs expressing, then we truly live life.” The goals I’ve set for myself are big, but I know for a fact that they aren’t impossible. As I continue to chase my dreams, I hope my story and journey inspires you to reach yours. The love and support I’ve received thus far is amazing, and I really appreciate it. I thank God everyday for the life I live.

Happy Dream Big Friday,

– Ruff
